FBI Seeking Victim Information in Summit Contracting, Inc. Investigation

The FBI is seeking to identify potential victims who may have been defrauded by Summit Contracting Inc., located in De Pere, Wisconsin.

The FBI is investigating allegations of criminal conduct by Summit Contracting owners Chad Schampers and Nate Smith. Allegedly, the two owners of Summit Contracting engaged in a scheme to defraud financial institutions and customers. More specifically, Summit Contracting encouraged customers to finance their home projects. After customers were approved for financing, Summit Contracting fully withdrew the funds for the project from the financing company before work was completed on the customers’ homes. These withdrawals were made without the customers’ knowledge and/or contrary to the payment authorization provided by the customers. After receiving the entire payment for the project, Summit Contracting regularly failed to provide the work and materials promised, leaving customers with loan payments for substandard or incomplete work.

If you have any information concerning this scheme or if you believe you are a victim or may have been affected, please visit fbi.gov/SummitContracting for more information and to complete the confidential online questionnaire. Your responses are voluntary, but would be useful in the federal investigation and to identify you as a potential victim. You may be contacted by the FBI and asked to provide additional information.
