Subject Arrested—FBI Seeking Information from a Bank Robbery in Fort Lauderdale

The FBI announces the arrest of Terry Lee Smith II, 49, of Boca Raton, Florida, for his alleged involvement in the robbery of a TD Bank branch at 665 NW 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 23, 2019.

The arrest was made today, June 10, 2019, around 3:30 p.m. without incident in Ft. Lauderdale by the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department.

Investigators believe this individual was also allegedly involved in another bank robbery today, June 10, 2019, at approximately 2:20 p.m. at a Wells Fargo located at 1100 West State Rd 84, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Smith is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. His initial appearance is anticipated to be in Ft. Lauderdale Federal Court tomorrow, June 11, 2019. The complaint detailing the charges can be found in PACER under the Southern District of Florida in due time.

The Ft. Lauderdale Police Department, the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
