Parental Kidnapping Fugitive Taken into Custody
Megan Elizabeth Everett, 23, of Broward County, Florida, was taken into custody without incident this morning in Palatka, Florida, by Putnam County Sheriff’s deputies and special agents from the FBI’s Daytona Beach Resident Agency.
A tip from the public lead investigators to Everett’s location. Everett’s case was featured on the CNN program “The Hunt with John Walsh” this weekend.
Everett is wanted for allegedly kidnapping her then-2-year-old daughter in 2014.
A criminal complaint is available in PACER.
Everett is being held by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and will be extradited to Broward County, Florida.
Her daughter is currently in protective custody.
The Sunrise Police Department, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI continue their investigation.
