FBI Seeking Information from Bank Robberies in Miami Lakes and Miami

The FBI is seeking information from two bank robberies committed less than an hour apart in Miami Lakes and Miami.

The first robbery took place today, March 28, 2019, at approximately 9:26 a.m. at a TD Bank branch located at 16200 NW 57th Avenue, Miami Lakes, Florida.

The second robbery took place today, March 28, 2019, at approximately 10:16 a.m. at a Chase Bank branch located at 175th NW 199th Street, Miami, Florida.

During both robberies, the robber entered the bank and demanded money from a bank employee. Customers were in both banks. There were no injuries. The amount of money taken, if any, will not be released at this time.

Investigators believe the same individual robbed both banks and have dubbed him the “Stopwatch Bandit” because during each robbery he showed bank employees a stopwatch app on his cell phone that appeared to be counting down.

If anyone has information as to the identity of this bank robber, they are urged to call the FBI at (754) 703-2000 or Crimestoppers.
