FBI Arrests Individual in SunTrust Bank Branch Robbery

At approximately 5:30 p.m. this afternoon (11/4/2016) a robber entered the SunTrust Bank branch located at 2001 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, Florida, demanded money from an employee, and exited the bank. There were no injuries during the robbery and the amount of money taken is not being released at this time.

Shortly after exiting the bank, Tarrife Zane Chaplin, 28, of Miami Gardens, Florida, was arrested without incident by Hollywood Police officers for his alleged involvement in the SunTrust robbery.

Investigators believe Chaplin is also the same individual who allegedly robbed the Wells Fargo Bank branch, 1807 Young Circle, Hollywood, Florida, earlier today.

Chaplin is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. His initial appearance is expected to be in federal court in Ft. Lauderdale on Monday (11/7/2016).

The criminal complaint may be found in PACER in due time. No picture(s)/mug shots are available.

The Hollywood Police Department, the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
