FBI Announces Reward for Information About a Serial Bank Robbery

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person or persons responsible for at least four South Florida bank robberies.

Investigators have identified this robber as the “Cover-Up Bandit” due to the manner he disguises his appearance.

It is believed that the “Cover-Up Bandit” was allegedly involved in the following South Florida bank robberies:

  • Wells Fargo Bank at 6245 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on January 16, 2018
  • Wells Fargo Bank at 6245 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida on February 2, 2018
  • PNC Bank at 5017 West Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach, Florida on February 16, 2018
  • Bank United at 2500 North Federal Highway, Lighthouse Point, Florida on February 22, 2018

This robber should be considered ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

An FBI special agent will be available for sound between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. today at the FBI main office at 2030 SW 145 Avenue, Miramar, Florida 33027. (Spanish speaker is available.)

LIST OF AGENCIES INVOLVED IN THE INVESTIGATION: Delray Beach PD, Fort Lauderdale PD, Lighthouse Point PD, the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
