FBI Announces Arrest of Two Suspects in a Jewelry Store Robbery Yesterday in Ft. Lauderdale

Malcolm Anwar Williams, 37, and Zavier Mcgee, 34, were arrested yesterday afternoon in Dade County following a police pursuit by officers from numerous agencies from Broward and Dade Counties. Williams and Mcgee are facing federal charges stemming from the robbery of a jewelry store yesterday (5/31/2015) located inside the Galleria Mall, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Williams and Mcgee are excepted to have their initial appearance today in Federal court in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

The FBI, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office, Miami Dade Police Department and the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force continue their investigation. The FBI and its South Florida Violent Crime Task Force are involved in this matter as part of an initiative to assist local law enforcement agencies combat violent armed robberies.

Investigators believe there are at least three other subjects at large.
