The FBI announces the arrest of Gerald Elliot Harris, 46, of Dania Beach, Florida, for his alleged involvement in the robbery earlier today of a Chase Bank branch, 300 E. Dania Beach Blvd., Dania Beach, Florida.

The arrest was made today (August 5, 2016), without incident, in Dania Beach by the Broward Sheriff's Office shortly after the alleged robbery.

Harris is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. His initial appearance is expected to be in Fort Lauderdale federal court.

The Broward Sheriff's Office, the South Florida Violent Crimes Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
