FBI Miami Announces Recipient of the Director’s Community Leadership Award
MIAMI—Acting SAC Maged Behnam presented Dr. Lubby Navarro with the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award during a ceremony held at the FBI Miami’s main office on Thursday, December 29, 2022. The award recognizes Dr. Navarro’s commitment, dedication, and compassion for the local communities she serves.
The Honorable Dr. Lubby Navarro is a Miami Dade County School Board Member (District 7) who has initiated and been the catalyst for the following initiatives:
Girl to Girl Mentoring Initiative: Dr. Navarro identified and leveraged professional women throughout the county to serve as mentors for young female students.
Think Before You Post Hoax Campaign: Dr. Navarro championed the FBI’s “Think Before You Post Hoax Campaign” by obtaining unanimous board approval for district wide dissemination of campaign brochures and posters to all Miami-Dade public schools.
Workforce Educational Maritime Trades Initiative: Dr. Navarro developed this initiative through the District’s Adult and Vocational Programs. This initiative provides students and adults with training opportunities in the maritime industry.
Additionally, Dr. Lubby Navarro is the Senior Vice-President and Governmental Affairs Manager for the Memorial Healthcare Systems. In this capacity, Dr. Navarro has worked tirelessly to ensure that underserved communities in South Florida receive COVID Vaccinations, monoclonal antibodies, and other medicines needed during the current pandemic through Memorial Healthcare’s Community Engagement efforts.
Each year, the Director’s Community Leadership Award recognizes leaders from around the country who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to their local communities through service. The FBI is grateful for the work of each of these individuals and organizations.
