FBI Announces the Arrest of an Alleged Convenience Store Robber
The FBI announces the arrest of Derrick Thomas, 43, of Lauderhill, Florida, for his alleged involvement in the August 15, 2024, robbery of a convenience store in Lauderhill, Florida.
Thomas was arrested without incident by the FBI on March 3, 2024, in Lauderhill.
The subject is in federal custody and is charged with Hobbs Act robbery and for the use of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The subject had his initial appearance in Fort Lauderdale federal court today.
The Lauderhill PD, the South Florida Violent Crime/Fugitive Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.
Because this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
