FBI Seeks Information in Attack at Ramona Gardens Apartments in Los Angeles

At approximately 12:35 a.m., on May 12, 2014, a group of unidentified individuals were captured on video throwing incendiary devices known as Molotov cocktails at four separate apartments at the Ramona Gardens Housing Project, which is located in the Boyle Heights area in the city of Los Angeles. No victims were physically injured.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the crime scene and handled the arson investigation. Several pieces of evidence were recovered by arson investigators, and the evidence is being examined forensically. Based on video captured of the incident and other evidence, investigators believe there are multiple suspects responsible. Eight individuals were seen on the video surveillance.

The identities of the persons responsible and the motive are under investigation. A reward of up to $100,000 ($75,000 from Los Angeles; $25,000 from FBI/ATF) is being offered in exchange for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of one or more members of the group responsible for this crime.
