FBI Knoxville to Host Diversity Agent Recruitment Event

KNOXVILLE, TN—As part of the FBI’s commitment to attract highly skilled and diverse talent, the Knoxville Field Office is hosting a Diversity Agent Recruitment (DAR) Event on August 16, 2018. The DAR event is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at reaching applicants with a variety of backgrounds to more fully diversify the FBI. The event is invitation-only and interested parties must apply through the FBI website to be considered.

Current FBI special agents will attend the event to discuss the many available career paths. Threats have become increasingly complex and global and the FBI needs individuals with a wide variety of backgrounds and knowledge of cultures and languages to better understand and engage the diverse public we serve. This, in turn, enables us to effectively investigate national security and criminal threats, while preserving civil liberties.

“A dedicated highly trained and diverse workforce empowers the FBI to consistently develop creative strategies and most effectively protect our country,” says Renae McDermott, special agent in charge of the FBI in East Tennessee. “If you enjoy working in a highly challenging team environment and thrive on sharing your unique expertise and perspective, please explore this opportunity to serve your country with the FBI.”

This recruiting campaign seeks U.S. citizens between 23-36 years of age who have earned, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and have three or more years of work experience.

In order to attend this invitation-only event, interested candidates must apply online at www.fbijobs.gov.
