FBI Knoxville is Seeking Assistance to Identify Tri-City Community Bank Robber

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Johnson City Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the men who robbed Tri-City Community Bank on October 4, 2017.

On October 4, 2017, at approximately 2:50 p.m., law enforcement agencies responded to an armed bank robbery at the Tri-City Community Bank, 2867 Boones Creek Road, Johnson City, Tennessee.

Reports indicate that two males wearing dark clothing entered Tri-City Community Bank and brandished a small black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the bank employees. The suspects wore gorilla masks and one had a backpack. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspects fled the bank in a silver older model four door Toyota Corolla. This matter is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Johnson City Police Department.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
