Bank Robbery of Regions Bank on October 23, 2017

Suspect Captured

On Monday, October 23, 2017, law enforcement agencies responded to a bank robbery at the Regions Bank, located at 7320 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., a white male entered the Regions Bank and forcibly grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from a bank teller and fled south on Chapman Highway in a Blue Ford Mustang driven by another individual.

Shortly thereafter, Christopher Wayne Best, age 29, was arrested for the robbery, in Sevier County by the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and a Sevier County Constable.

This matter is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Safe Streets Task Force, comprised of the FBI, Knoxville Police Department (KPD) and Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), in conjunction with KPD Patrol and the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office. All defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
