December 5, 2016 update: The FBI has confirmed that remains located by investigators in Tennessee on Friday, December 2 are that of Rachael Lynn Madison, who was last seen on November 27, 2016 in Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida.

Investigators have located remains believed to be Rachael Lynn Madison, who was last seen on November 27, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. near her family’s home in Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida. Special agents from the FBI Jacksonville Division have been working in conjunction with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office to locate her.

On Friday morning, Jarvis Madison, Rachael Madison’s estranged husband, was located in Louisville, Kentucky by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and was taken into custody on an arrest warrant issued by the Indiana State Police. Information gathered in the subsequent investigation led teams of investigators from the FBI Louisville Division and the Indiana State Police to a remote area off I-40 near Knoxville, Tennessee, where the remains were found Friday evening.

Evidence gathered at the site will now be processed to positively confirm that the remains recovered are that of Rachael Lynn Madison.

The FBI has notified Rachael Madison’s family of the findings, and we request that members of the media respect their privacy.

“The thoughts and prayers of everyone in the FBI are with Ms. Madison’s family, and we remain committed to finding answers through our ongoing investigation,” said Charles P.
