Week in Review—Hammond

HAMMOND, IN—The United States Attorney’s Office Announced the Following Activity in Federal Court:

Disposition:

  • James Gerodemos, 51, of Schererville, Indiana was sentenced to six months’ incarceration, to pay a fine of $50,000 with one year of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of engaging in the business of dealing in explosive materials without a license to do so. According to documents filed in this case, in June of 2013, Gerodemos was found to be in possession of over 16,000 lbs. of commercial and illegal explosives that he intended to sell. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas McGrath.
