FBI Houston Seeks the “Sweaty Swindler” for Bank Robbery
Up to $5,000 Cash Reward
HOUSTON, TX—FBI Houston’s Violent Crime Task Force is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man dubbed the “Sweaty Swindler” who committed a robbery in northeast Houston. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the robber.
The robbery occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Chase Bank located at 8799 North Loop East Freeway in Houston. During the robbery, the suspect entered the bank sweating profusely, approached the counter, and handed the teller a note demanding cash. He then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.
The robber is described as a balding black male in his late 50s, approximately 5’9” tall, with an average build and a long gray/white beard. During the robbery he wore a blue t-shirt, blue jeans, and gray shoes. The suspect also carried a gray backpack with the Texans logo on it.
