FBI Houston Seeks the “Jailhouse Gymnast” for Bank Robbery
Up to $5,000 Cash Reward
HOUSTON, TX—FBI Houston’s Violent Crime Task Force is asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a man dubbed the “Jailhouse Gymnast” who committed a robbery in southwest Houston. Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the robber.
The robbery occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the IBC Bank located at 8203 South Kirkwood Road in Houston. During the robbery, the suspect entered the bank, approached the counter, and demanded cash while continuously threatening the teller. He then flung himself over the counter, reached into the till, grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled the bank on foot westbound on Beechnut Street. No one was physically hurt during the robbery.
The robber is described as a black male in his mid-30s, approximately 5’7” tall, with a thin build and a stubble beard. During the robbery he wore a red t-shirt with the University of South Carolina logo on the front, blue jeans, and white shoes. The suspect was described as possibly being homeless.
