FBI El Paso Special Agent in Charge Announces Arrest of Midland Bank Robbery Fugitive

Special Agent in Charge Emmerson Buie Jr. of the FBI El Paso Field Office announced the arrest of Jose Cruz Iglesias, a fugitive wanted for his alleged involvement in the robbery of the Community National Bank on December 23, 2016.

Iglesias was arrested without incident in Odessa, Texas by FBI special agents of the Midland Resident Agency on Friday, June 22, 2018. Through the course of the investigation, the Midland Resident Agency worked with the Stanton Police Department and the Midland Police Department.

Iglesias is in federal custody and is expected to appear in federal court in Midland County.

A criminal complaint and arrest warrant for Iglesias were issued in the Western District of Texas on December 23, 2016.

It is important to note that a criminal complaint is merely a charge and should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
