FBI Statement Regarding the Bomb Threat at the El Paso Veteran’s Affairs Outpatient Clinic
EL PASO, TX—The FBI El Paso Joint Terrorism Task Force responded to an incident at the El Paso Veteran’s Affairs Outpatient Clinic at 5001 Piedras together with members of the Veterans Affairs Police, FBI El Paso Bomb Technicians, El Paso Police Department Bomb Squad, and the Fort Bliss Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team. It has been determined there is no threat to the clinic or the El Paso community at this time.
“We will work with the United States Attorney’s Office to determine if a crime has been committed and hold responsible individuals accountable,” said FBI El Paso Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey R. Downey. “It is our policy not to discuss details of ongoing investigations. Each and every potential threat brought to our attention is taken seriously. As always, we encourage the public to remain vigilant and to promptly report suspicious activities that could represent a threat to public safety.”
