I am deeply saddened at the passing of Sheriff Benny Napoleon who was a great leader in the law enforcement community and a true partner to the FBI. Sheriff Napoleon was born and raised in Detroit and spent decades serving that same community as part of the Detroit Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. He performed that service with courage, passion, and a real dedication to making Wayne County safe for all of its residents.

The loss of Sheriff Napoleon will be deeply felt by those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him. On behalf of the FBI across the state of Michigan, I offer my condolences to Sheriff Napoleon’s family, friends, and the men and women of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. May he rest in peace.
