On Friday, October 14, 2022, FBI Detroit arrested Wendy Halsted Beard, owner and operator of The Wendy Halsted Gallery (formerly The Halsted Gallery) on wire fraud charges.

The complaint against the defendant alleges victims were defrauded in the following ways:

1. The proprietor took fine art photography on consignment and the pieces were either not returned to the victim or were sold without the proceeds of the sale being provided to the victim; or
2. The proprietor sold artwork to a victim and after receiving payment, never actually delivered the art.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify additional potential victims who may have provided art to or never received purchased art from Wendy Halsted Beard or The Wendy Halsted Gallery.
