The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Cleveland Division, the Valley View Police Department, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Police, and the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio announce the federal arrest of Chelsea Denise Perkins, age 31, current resident of Pensacola, Florida.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, the deceased body of Matthew John Dunmire was discovered near the “Terra Vista Cemetery” on federal lands. This area is located within the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division. A joint investigation was initiated by the FBI, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and the Valley View Police Department.

This morning, December 9, 2021, Chelsea Perkins was placed into federal custody without incident at her residence in Pensacola, Florida. Ms. Perkins has been charged with Title 18 USC Section 1111(a) Murder. Ms. Perkins is scheduled to have an initial appearance today in federal court in Florida.

The federal complaint has been unsealed. Information outside of the complaint affidavit cannot be provided.
