A Bedford Heights Man Was Arrested for Threatening Communications

The Cleveland Division of the FBI, the Cleveland Division of Police, and the Northern District of Ohio United States Attorney’s Office announce the arrest of Mustafah Omar Hawkins, age 27, of Bedford Heights, Ohio. An arrest warrant was issued for violation of Interstate Threatening Communications by communicating a true threat to injure a person, namely police officers and citizens present in Little Italy in Cleveland, Ohio.

The federal complaint alleges that Hawkins, known as profile Majic Jordan on Facebook, wrote several threatening posts. On May 31, 2020, Hawkins wrote, “We finna start smoking y’all n****s when we see y’all killing n****s and y’all supposed to be the police. Mark my words the change is here.” On June 1, 2020, Hawkins’ post states, “….Y’all wanna get shot I see”. On June 2, 2020, Hawkins references assembling a flash mob and flinging “Tov’s," which he explains to be slang for Molotov Cocktails.

Hawkins was taken into custody by agents of the Cleveland Division of the FBI without incident Friday evening, June 5, 2020 at approximately 5 p.m. Hawkins will have an initial appearance in federal court today, June 8, 2020, at 2 p.m.

A complaint is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government's burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
