2016 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award Recipient

On Friday, April 28, 2017, Robby’s Voice, a non-profit organization who’s mission is to save lives by raising awareness about drug addiction, will receive the prestigious FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award (DCLA).

Robby’s Voice arms parents, students, and communities with information to identify the warning signs of substance abuse and get access to the resources needed to live a drug free life. Confronting the reality of addiction is painful and confusing and affects the addict, as well as the entire family.

Robby’s Voice has proven to be a valuable collaborator to the Cleveland community, Cleveland Division of the FBI, and numerous agencies in Northern Ohio.

The Director’s Community Leadership Award, presented by the Director of the FBI, James Comey, was formally created in 1990 as a way to honor individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs, and violence in America. Visit the FBI website at www.fbi.gov for details on the people and organizations who have most recently been recognized around the country for their service above and beyond the call of duty to help keep America and its kids safe. Press photos will be uploaded to the website by 6 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017.

Robby’s Voice joins the ranks of recent Cleveland recipients: Dr. Tom Collins; Yvonne Pointer; Fred Szabo; Jimmy Malone; the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, and Toledo’s Second Chance organization, both of which partner with the FBI to care for victims of crimes in Northern Ohio.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Stephen Anthony said, “The list of Cleveland area FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award recipients is extraordinary. Our community has benefited greatly from the commitment of each of these incredible leaders. The FBI thanks Robby's Voice for the engagement with the community, social services, and law enforcement to help bring awareness and education regarding the overwhelming opiod and heroin epidemic.”
