FBI Offering $5,000 Reward for Information to Locate Suspect in Soldier’s Murder

The Charlotte Division of the FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted for murdering a Fort Bragg soldier. A federal warrant for murder (18 USC 1111) was issued for 27-year-old Jason Earl Armstrong, Jr. on July 8, 2016. Armstrong is accused of killing his wife, Iris Armstrong, inside their home on the Fort Bragg Army Base in Fayetteville, North Carolina on July 1, 2016.

He is described as having black hair, brown eyes, 5’11”-6’ tall, and weighing 150-160 lbs.

Armstrong has ties to Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, California, Louisiana, and Arizona. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Specific locations are listed below:

  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Houston, Dallas, and Amarillo, Texas
  • Columbia, South Carolina
  • Orange County and Los Angeles, California
  • New Orleans, Louisiana
  • Phoenix, Arizona

An FBI wanted poster, digital billboards, and the use of social media will be utilized to publicize the search and reward being offered in connection with Armstrong’s arrest. The FBI appreciates the willingness of our billboard partners to assist in providing additional publicity.

He was seen on surveillance video using the victim’s debit card shortly after the murder occurred. If you know where Jason Earl Armstrong, Jr. is or if you see him, do not approach him; call 911 or your local FBI office.

The investigation is being led by the FBI Charlotte Division, Fayetteville Resident Agency with assistance from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigations Division.
