Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force Drug Initiative Nets Arrests on Federal and State Drug Offenses

A Total of 18 Charged in Joint Federal and Local Law Enforcement Operation

The Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force arrested and charged multiple suspects in a day-long sweeping operation aimed at combating the rise in heroin distribution along the coast. Just two weeks ago, the FBI’s Wilmington Resident Agency, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation announced their joint initiative, and already the first strike to the drug suppliers has been felt.

Five suspects are currently fugitives. Two subjects were already in jail in state custody; 11 additional suspects were taken into custody without incident and are facing a variety of heroin or drug related offenses. They are:

  • Ian Chandler Bellamy-Brown, 21, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
  • William Lamont Edward Daniels, 34, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
  • Stevie Dewayne Riggins, 31, of Green Sea, South Carolina (currently a fugitive)
  • Antonia Montuz Smith, 38, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
  • Delonne Christopher Watts, 27, of Longwood (currently a fugitive)
  • Troy Ahkeem Wilson, 37, of Winnabow (federal prisoner)
  • Bradley Christopher Griffin, Jr. 31, of Longwood (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Daphne Claudette Stanley, 42, of Longwood (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Patrick Lee Taylor, 34, of Longwood (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Michael Jarell Stanley, 28, of Longwood (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Jody Overby, 38, of Supply (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Sharmaine Ranotta Brown, 29, of Ash (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Jodi Riley, 40, of Ash (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Hester Griffin, 56, of Longwood (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Xavier Antialio Williams, 27, of Calabash (Brunswick County Detention Center)
  • Clifton Jenkins, 28, of Wallace (Duplin County Detention Center)
  • Zachary Herring, 50, of Leland (New Hanover Co. Detention Center)
  • Israel McCloud-Williamson, 21, of Wilmington (New Hanover County Detention Center)

These arrests are an outstanding example of what local and federal law enforcement can accomplish when we work together to target the individuals who threaten the safety and stability of our neighborhood streets. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the fugitives should contact the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office at (91) 253-2777 or call 911.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Coastal Carolina Criminal Enterprise Task Force, which is composed of the FBI Charlotte Division’s Wilmington Resident Agency, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

The following agencies assisted in the arrest operation on August, 3, 2016, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville Police Department, the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office, the Wilmington Police Department, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

The task forces’ joint investigations will be supported by our partners at the United States Attorney’s Office Eastern District of North Carolina and our local New Hanover and Brunswick County District Attorney’s Offices.
