MS-13 Fugitive Arrested in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

Efrain Vasquez-Yanez, an alleged member of the MS-13 gang, charged with RICO conspiracy and conspiracy to distribute cocaine, has been arrested.

The Massachusetts State Police’s Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the Pittsfield, Massachusetts Police Department took Vasquez-Yanez into custody without incident this morning at approximately 8:25 a.m. after the Massachusetts State Police developed information that Vasquez-Yanez had a connection to that area.

On January 26, 2016, Vasquez-Yanez was indicted in U.S. District Court in Boston, Massachusetts as “FNU, LNU,” also known as “Caballo,” along with 55 other members and close associates of La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13).

Last week, the FBI’s North Shore Gang Task Force announced a reward up to $20,000 for information leading to his arrest. However, no reward money will have to be paid out.
