Violent Gang Member Arrested

ATLANTA—The FBI and the Safe Streets Gang Task Force want to thank the news media and the Outdoor Advertising Association of Georgia for helping us arrest Antariouse “Phat” Caldwell.

Caldwell was arrested this morning, January 9, 2019, at a motel in Jonesboro following an anonymous tip from the public. The tipster said they recognized Caldwell from publicity they had seen about a tattoo on his neck that read “No Mercy”.

With assistance from the Clayton County Sheriff Office, Caldwell was taken into custody without incident.

The search for Caldwell was part of a news media and billboard campaign that led to numerous tips, including the anonymous tip that led to his arrest.

Caldwell was indicted on October 24, 2018, for Federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Conspiracy-Murder.

Caldwell was named in a superseding indictment to an indictment returned by a federal grand jury in the Northern District of Georgia on April 27, 2016. Thirty-two (32) alleged members of the national gang, The Gangster Disciples, were indicted on RICO/Conspiracy charges related to alleged criminal activity on behalf of the gang.

The public should be reminded that the above are merely allegations and that all persons are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
