Reward Offered/Serial Dollar Store Armed Robbery Suspect Turns Violent

ATLANTA, GA—The FBI is once again asking for the public’s help in identifying a dangerous serial armed robber who has hit an additional four dollar stores and has escalated to violence.

In a recent robbery at a Family Dollar store in Lawrenceville, Georgia, on March 10, 2020, the suspect fired shots at an employee who was not hit.

Family Dollar is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

From January 9, 2020, until February 2, 2020, the FBI believes the suspect was responsible for at least seven armed robberies at the following Family Dollar stores:

  • January 9, 2020 at 3460 East Ponce De Leon Avenue, Scottdale, Georgia 30079
  • January 16, 2020 at 3201 Tucker Norcross Road, Tucker, Georgia 30084
  • January 21, 2020, at 5404 Covington Highway, Decatur, Georgia 30035
  • January 22, 2020 at 3412 Clairmont Road, Brookhaven, Georgia 30319
  • January 23, 2020 at 1616 Virginia Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30337
  • January 31, 2020 at 6871 Main Street, Lithonia, Georgia 30058
  • February 2, 2020 at 1125 North Indian Creek Drive, Lithonia, Georgia 30021

Nearly a month after the last robbery, the suspect robbed four more stores:

  • March 1, 2020 Dollar General at 1291 Columbia Drive, Decatur, Georgia 30032
  • March 5, 2020 Family Dollar at 3824 Powder Springs Road, Powder Springs, Georgia
  • March 10, 2020 Family Dollar at 249 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046
  • March 11, 2020 Family Dollar at 2335 Highway 138 East, Jonesboro, Georgia 30236

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, about 150 lbs., and typically wears a dark-color hooded sweatshirt under a dark-color puffy jacket, dark pants, and tan-color Timberland-style boots.
