Law Enforcement Needs Public’s Help in Identifying Dreadlock Wig Bank Robber

ATLANTA—David J. LeValley, special agent in charge (SAC), FBI Atlanta Field Office, in conjunction with Erika Shields, chief of police, Atlanta Police Department, requests the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual responsible for the following Atlanta area bank robberies.

A lone black male occasionally wearing a dreadlock wig, switching between clear shooting type glasses and dark sunglasses, has been plaguing metro Atlanta area banks and law enforcement with his demand note style bank robberies or attempted bank robberies. The robber is believed to be in his mid- thirties in age, approximately 6’0” in height or taller, medium build, with short facial hair (beard/mustache). He is responsible for the following robberies.

Incident #1:

  • October 14, 2017 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
  • Fifth Third Bank located inside the Kroger at 3240 South Cobb Drive, Smyrna, GA 30082
  • Passed note demanding money and obtained an undisclosed amount of money.
  • Smyrna P.D. Case # 17-100333

Incident #2:

  • October 14, 2017 at approximately 3:20 p.m.
  • Fifth Third Bank located inside the Kroger at 590 Cascade Avenue SW in Atlanta (city)
  • Passed note demanding money and obtained an undisclosed amount of money.
  • Atlanta P.D. Case # 172871459

Incident #3:

  • October 16, 2017 at approximately 5:30 p.m.
  • Chase Bank located at 2491 Village Creek Landing, Atlanta, GA 30316 (Dekalb County)
  • Passed note demanding money and received no cash
  • Dekalb County P.D. Case # 17- 103578

Incident #4:

  • October 27, 2017 at approximately 1:47 p.m.
  • Wells Fargo located at 1459 Moreland Avenue SE in Atlanta (city)
  • Passed note demanding money and received no cash
  • Atlanta P.D. Case # 173001671

Incident #5:

  • October 28, 2017 at approximately 1:10 p.m.
  • PNC Bank located inside of the Kroger at 2685 Metropolitan Parkway SW in Atlanta (city)
  • Passed note demanding money and received no cash
  • Atlanta P.D. Case # 173011289
