FBI, Dekalb PD Continue Efforts to Identify and Locate Loomis Armored Car Robber Who Used Hot Coffee as Weapon

ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge David J. LeValley, FBI Atlanta Field Office, in conjunction with Dekalb County Police Chief J.W. Conroy, request the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual who robbed a Loomis Armored Car courier yesterday at a Quick Trip located on Panola Road in Lithonia, Georgia.

On Monday, September 04, 2017, at approximately 10:50 a.m., a lone black male accosted a Loomis Armored Car courier with a hot cup of coffee while the courier was servicing Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) located inside of the QuickTrip, located at 2776 Panola Road, Lithonia, Georgia. The robber, throwing hot coffee onto the courier, was able to grab the courier’s bag containing the money to service the ATMs and departed the immediate area on foot without further incident.

The robber is described as being a black male, early to mid 20’s in age, 5’8”—5’9” in height, and with a slender build. In addition, the robber was wearing a white construction type helmet, yellow construction/safety vest, brown work boots, and sunglasses.
