Navajo Police Officer Shot in New Mexico
UPDATE: The officer has passed away. He was Houston James Largo, 27, a decorated officer with five years of service. The case remains under investigation.
PREVIOUS PRESS RELEASE:
The FBI and Navajo Nation are investigating a shooting that critically injured a Navajo Police Officer.
The officer was shot while responding to a domestic violence call near Prewitt, New Mexico, on the Navajo Nation, early Sunday morning.
A suspect is in custody.
The officer was airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital.
The New Mexico State Police and McKinley County Sheriff's Office are assisting with the investigation.
