Larry Mitchell Hopkins, 69, of Flora Vista, New Mexico, was arrested today, April 19, 2019, on a federal complaint charging him with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.

The FBI arrested Hopkins in Sunland Park, New Mexico, with the assistance of the Sunland Park Police Department.

Hopkins, also known as Johnny Horton Jr., is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 10:30 a.m.

The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
