FBI Media Alert: Man Tries to Rob Rio Rancho Credit Union
The FBI and Rio Rancho Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the individual responsible for the attempted robbery of a credit union on Saturday, January 15, 2022.
At approximately 2:10 p.m., an unknown male entered First Financial Credit Union, 2201 Rio Rancho Drive Southeast. The suspect presented a demand note to a teller. The robber left the credit union without any money and fled south on foot.
Suspect’s Description:
- Sex: Male
- Race: Hispanic
- Age: 20s-30s
- Height: Approximately 5'4”
- Clothing: Gray mask, gray hooded jacket, dark pants, a tan baseball cap with a logo on the front, and black and white running shoes.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
