FBI Media Alert: Information Sought in Death of Woman Found Near Camel Rock

The FBI is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the circumstances surrounding the death of Destinee Alexis Atencio, whose body was found near Camel Rock in Tesuque Pueblo, New Mexico, on June 22, 2019.

An autopsy was unable to determine the cause of her death.

Atencio, who was 21 at the time, was last seen by a relative in Santa Fe sometime in April 2019.

Atencio may have been dead for at least a couple of weeks before her body was found.

Atencio was 5'6” tall and approximately 135 pounds.

She had brown eyes and black hair.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs is assisting with the investigation.
