FBI Media Alert: FBI Seeks 'High Top Robber' After Albuquerque Bank Robbery

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the “High Top Robber,” who is responsible for a bank robbery on Monday, May 2, 2022.

At approximately 10:25 a.m., an unknown male entered Wells Fargo, 3022 Central Avenue SE. The suspect verbally demanded money from a teller. The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and ran southwest toward Dartmouth Drive SE.

Suspect’s Description:

  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 20s
  • Height: Approximately 5'6”
  • Race: Native American or Hispanic
  • Clothing: Gray pullover sweater, dark baseball cap, sunglasses, dark mask covering lower half of face, dark pants, black and white high top basketball shoes.
  • Other: The suspect carried what appeared to be clothes in his hand.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
