FBI Media Alert: FBI, Bernalillo Police Look for Bank Robber

A man wearing a dark blue Torrance County Fire Department long-sleeve shirt robbed a bank in Bernalillo on Friday, July 30, 2021.

The robbery occurred at Wells Fargo, located at 239 West Highway 550, at approximately 2:15 p.m.

The suspect is described as a Native American or Hispanic male with dark skin, approximately 5'6" tall, with a medium build.

He wore a blue shirt, a dark mask covering the lower half of his face, a dark baseball cap with a light-colored bill, and dark green pants.

The suspect entered the bank and presented a demand note to a teller.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the bank.

The FBI and Bernalillo Police Department are investigating.

Authorities are investigating whether this suspect may have committed four other bank robberies this month, two in Moriarty, and one each in Tijeras and Socorro.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of that suspect.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
