FBI, Albuquerque Police Look for 'Out of Gas Robber' Who Robbed Bank of the West
The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the “Out of Gas Robber” who is responsible for a bank robbery on Friday, June 17, 2022.
At approximately 12:21 p.m., an unknown male entered Bank of the West, located at 500 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue NE. The suspect verbally demanded money from a teller. The robber received an undisclosed sum of money and left the bank.
Suspect’s Description:
- Sex: Male
- Race: Hispanic
- Height: 6'2”
- Weight: 160 pounds
- Clothing: Black bandana on head, white tank top, khaki pants, silver cross on necklace.
- Other: Carried red gas can and lime green bag.
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
