The Belen Police Department on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, arrested Gerald Valentine Gurule, who was wanted on a federal arrest warrant for bank robbery.

FBI special agents took custody of Gurule, 26, of Albuquerque, who is accused of being one of the two men who robbed Bank of the West, 780 Juan Tabo Boulevard NE, in Albuquerque, on February 21, 2019.

Gurule’s brother, Matthew Gurule, 28, also of Albuquerque, was arrested on the same charge last month.

Gerald Gurule is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Thursday, April 18, 2019.

The public is reminded that all defendants are considered innocent unless convicted in a court of law.
