Bank Robbery at BBVA Compass Bank, 6001 Academy Blvd NE, Albuquerque

A northeast Albuquerque bank robber struck today (01/30/2017) but has not been apprehended.

The robbery occurred at BBVA Compass Bank, 6001 Academy Blvd NE, at approximately 9:47 a.m.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his late twenties to late thirties, approximately 5’5” to 5’7” tall, with a medium build.

He wore a brown knit cap, glasses, red hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, and white gloves.

Witnesses said the suspect entered the bank, displayed a note and demanded money from the teller.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who was last seen heading east bound through the bank parking lot on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at (505) 889-1300, or Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (505) 843-STOP. Also, anyone that comes in contact with red stained money, clothing or other items, is asked to call the FBI at the number listed above.

The FBI may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
