Albuquerque Man Arrested for Alleged Involvement in Bank Robberies
An Albuquerque man was arrested Tuesday on a federal criminal complaint for his alleged involvement in four bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery, all in Albuquerque and within the past two weeks.
The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) arrested Christopher James Baum, 36, who is facing federal charges in connection with the August 16 robbery of Bank of the West; August 19 robbery of Bank of the West; August 23 attempted robbery of Bank of Albuquerque; August 23 robbery of Nusenda Credit Union; and the August 24 robbery of Wells Fargo.
Baum is expected to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque on Wednesday.
The public is reminded that defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Additionally, the FBI and APD are investigating the robbery on Tuesday afternoon of Bank of the West at 780 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE.
