FBI Media Alert: Have You Seen the Sports Sweatshirt Swindler? He’s Wanted for an Albuquerque Bank Robbery

The FBI and Albuquerque Police Department are seeking the public's assistance to identify the Sports Sweatshirt Swindler, who robbed Wells Fargo, 1406 Bridge Boulevard SW, at approximately 3:57 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Suspect's description:

Sex:  Male
Race: White
Height: Approximately 5'9"
Age: 50s
Build: Thin
Clothing: Dark hat, sunglasses, black Adidas hooded sweatshirt, blue surgical mask, and blue gloves.

The suspect entered the bank, presented a demand note to a teller, and made verbal demands for money. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who left the bank.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.

Bank robbery carries a possible prison term of up to 20 years. The use of a gun, other dangerous weapon, toy gun, or hoax bomb device during the commission of a bank robbery can be punishable by a prison term of up to 25 years.
