Three Enter Guilty Pleas in Auto Loan Scheme

CHARLESTON, SC—United States Attorney William N. Nettles stated today that three individuals entered guilty pleas, admitting their roles in an auto loan scheme involving over $800,000. Pleading guilty were William Brian Toadvine, age 34, of Mt. Pleasant; Daniel Kosmer Jr., 25, of Greenville; and Joyce Pozniko, 58, of Hanahan. Toadvine pled guilty to violating 18 U.S.C. 1349, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and Kosmer and Pozniko each pled guilty to violating 18 U.S.C. 1014, providing false information in a loan application. All three face a maximum of 30 years of imprisonment. The indictment in the case alleges that the group fraudulently obtained auto loans by providing false documentation to over 16 different banks and credit unions.
The case was investigated by agents of the FBI. Assistant United States Attorney Nathan Williams of the Charleston office is prosecuting the case.
