Wanted by the Cleveland FBI: High School Juniors or Seniors

Have you wondered if the TV shows featuring the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are realistic? Are you curious about what it takes to be an FBI agent or member of the FBI’s professional staff? Do you wonder what case work is like? If you are a high school junior or senior in the area served by the FBI’s Cleveland Field Office, a perfect opportunity to discover the answers awaits: the 2015 Cleveland Future Agents in Training (FAIT) Academy.

The 2015 Cleveland FBI FAIT Academy will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015; Thursday, August 6, 2015; and Friday, August 7, 2015 at FBI Cleveland Field Office headquarters. Any high school junior or senior attending a public, private, charter, or home school and currently residing within the area of responsibility served by the FBI Cleveland Field Office may apply.

Students selected for the FBI FAIT Academy spend three fun, interactive days at the FBI’s Cleveland Field Office headquarters participating in both classroom and hands-on activities. Classes offer insight into a number of topics and specialties, including the importance of making good choices when using online communication platforms, what violations of federal law the FBI investigates, what is required of all FBI applicants, and the FBI’s domestic and international roles. Students will also enjoy hands-on experiences involving the evidence response team and bomb techs. After completing the class, students are more aware of challenges their communities face, better understand how the FBI serves their region, and are prepared to mentor their peers.

Application packages are currently available. Students must be complete and submit all required application materials to Cleveland Field Office headquarters no later Friday, June 26, 2015. For convenience, completed application packages can be sent by U.S. mail, parcel service, or hand delivered to Cleveland FBI, Attention: FAIT Academy, 1501 Lakeside Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44114; or applications can be sent via e-mail to cos.cv@ic.fbi.gov.

The Cleveland FBI FAIT Academy is offered at no cost to students and their families. The FBI Citizens Academy Foundation of Cleveland and its members generously sponsor lunch and snacks for all students in attendance, and all classroom materials are provided. If a student is selected, his or her family is responsible for transportation to and from class.
