U.S. Attorney’s Office February 02, 2012 |
Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, today announced that a federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment charging the crime of bank robbery against Justin R. Bowman, age 29, of Niles, Ohio.
The indictment alleges that on October 20, 2011, Justin R. Bowman, robbed the U.S. Bank located at 2132 Brookpark Road, Cleveland, Ohio, of $2,875.00 in U.S. currency.
The investigation was conducted by the Youngstown Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
If convicted, the defendants’ sentence will be determined by the court after review of factors unique to this case, including the defendants’ prior criminal record, if any, the defendants’ role in the offense and the characteristics of the violation. In all cases, the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in most cases it will be less than the maximum.
The indictment was presented to the grand jury by Assistant United States Attorney Blas E. Serrano.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
