Texas Man Pleads Guilty to Transporting Minor for Illicit Sexual Conduct

U.S. Attorney’s Office August 16, 2011
  • Northern District of Ohio (216) 622-3600

Forrest S. Twight, age 34, of Cedar Park, Texas, pleaded guilty this week to two charges: interstate transportation of a child with the intent to engage in sexual activity with a minor and travel in interstate commerce for the purpose of engaging in any illicit sexual conduct with another person, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.

On or about November 23, 2010, Twight made arrangements through the Internet and text messaging to travel to Ohio to meet the minor and transport the minor back to Twight’s Texas residence, with the intent to engage in sexual activity with the minor, according to court documents.

Twight now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of at least 10 years in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 24, 2011 by U.S. District Judge Donald Nugent.

The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorneys Linda H. Barr and Carol M. Skutnik following an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
