Shaker Heights Man Sentenced to Nine Years for Child Pornography Crimes

Dennis J. Cahill, age 62, of Shaker Heights, Ohio, was sentenced to nine years in prison for child pornography crimes, said Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio.
Cahill previously pleaded guilty to four counts: possession of child pornography, pandering child pornography, and two counts of receipt of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
On or about July 12, 2007, Cahill, knowingly received, by computer, five digital image files, each of which contained a visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to court documents. Additionally, the indictment charges that on October 8, 2010, Cahill possessed two USB storage devices and a computer, each containing child pornography. The indictment also charges between July 4, 2010, and August 16, 2010, Cahill knowingly received computer files, which files contained visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and child pornography.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michael A. Sullivan. The case was investigated by the Cleveland office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
