Canton Man Charged with Receiving, Distributing, and Producing Child Pornography

Timothy B. Israel, 37, of Canton, Ohio, was charged with receiving and distributing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and production of visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, Steven M. Dettelbach, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, announced today.

The Indictment charges that from on or about December 31, 2007, through on or about August 20, 2009, Israel received visual depictions of child pornography through the use of a computer. Israel also utilized the computer to distribute visual depictions of child pornography between the dates of November 4, 2008 and July 17, 2009. In addition, Israel produced visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and transmitted the images through interstate commerce, according to the charges.

This case is being prosecuted by Northern District of Ohio Assistant United States Attorney Carol M. Skutnik. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Canton Resident Agency.

An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
