Avon Lake Man Sentenced for Producing and Distributing Child Pornography

U.S. Attorney’s Office July 15, 2009
  • Northern District of Ohio (216) 622-3600

William J. Edwards, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, today announced that Keith A. Seeley was sentenced to 30 years in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release, for producing and distributing child pornography.

Seeley, 42, of Avon Lake, was convicted of persuading, inducing, enticing, and coercing a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct. Additionally, he was convicted of knowingly reproducing, for distribution in interstate and foreign commerce, visual depictions of the same child engaged in sexually explicit conduct. After taking photos of the child engaged in sexually explicit conduct, Seeley posted several such photos on a webpage at MySpace.com. Seeley faced a maximum of 50 years in prison and up to lifetime supervised release.

At a sentencing hearing on July 15, 2009, the Honorable Kathleen M. O’Malley, U.S. District Court Judge, sentenced Seeley to 360 months in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Avon Lake Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Sullivan, of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
